Creative Calls

Aplomb Contemporary Portrait Gallery invites artists to submit their most compelling portrait work for an upcoming exhibition. We seek dynamic, thought-provoking representations of the human experience, exploring identity, emotion, and connection. Submissions may feature a variety of styles and mediums, including but not limited to, painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, or mixed media.

The exhibition celebrates the art of portraiture, showcasing diverse interpretations and narratives. All artists are welcome to apply, from emerging talents to seasoned professionals. Selected works will be displayed in our gallery located in Dover, NH. Group exhibitions will have additional exposure in virtual reality inside Art Gate.


Call for Poetry

To be included in The Portrait Project IV Exhibition and the second biannual book

Deadline: March 15, 2025

Submit up to three poems to be considered by published author, Diannely Antigua.


Call for Art: "Night and Day"

Duo exhibition at Aplomb gallery October 4 - December 6, 2025


Deadline: August 21, 2025

Submit up to 8 portrait based or figurative works that related to either the theme "Night" or "Day" literally or abstractly. Juried by Gallery Director Danielle Festa.

Aplomb Gallery resides at Cocheco (CO-chi-co) on N’dakinna (n-DA-ki-na), now called Dover, New Hampshire, which is the unceded traditional ancestral homeland of the Abenaki (a-BEN-a-ki), Pennacook and Wabanaki Peoples, past and present. We acknowledge and honor with gratitude the land, waterways, living beings and the Aln8bak (Al-nuh-bak), the people who have stewarded N’dakinna (n-DA-ki-na) for many millennia.
