Aplomb Gallery, 15 Mechanic St, Ste 117, Dover, NH or via zoom
Experience the powerful combination of tapping and ink exploration in this unique workshop. Erica Nazzaro will guide us through a tapping exercise, followed by an expressive ink session on paper.
Playing with ink on wet paper can be both exhilarating and intimidating. It offers a rare opportunity to embrace freedom in our creative process.
Tapping has been shown to significantly reduce anxiety symptoms and lower cortisol levels by up to 43% by helping to calm the body's natural stress response.
We will begin with a gentle round of tapping together. Using Zoom, we will experiment with materials in the privacy of our own homes, with cameras optional.
This is a chance to practice letting go. Tapping is deeply soothing—many participants report feeling relaxed during the exercise and even more so afterward.
For Zoom attendees, materials will be mailed in advance. Those joining in person at Aplomb will have materials provided to use and take home. We will work on Bristol paper, allowing the ink to flow freely. Using a sprayer, we will drop ink onto the paper and experiment with paintbrushes, sponges, brayers, or scrapers to manipulate the ink. Together, we will explore textures, compositions, and the emotions they evoke.
Stepping away from our autopilot to-do lists allows us to reconnect with ourselves and find peace. We may encounter softness or resistance—and that’s okay. By welcoming both, we open ourselves to the transformative power of creative self-expression. Through this process, we loosen up, quiet our inner critic, and unlock new creative possibilities.
Let your creative muse emerge—this experience is deeply satisfying and a joy that can only be accessed by giving it a try!
